The Bonavista Peninsula has a lot to offer explorer with breathtaking views, unique experiencs and something or everyone.  Below is a small selection of things you can do in the area. 

Hiking

Sherwink Trail, Port Rexton
The hiking jewel of the region, is internationally recognized and was ranked amongst the top 35 trails in North America and Europe by Travel & Leisure magazine (2003). The 5.3km coastal loop begins in Port Rexton/Trinity East and provides an opportunity to view and photograph seabirds, eagles, sea stacks, icebergs and whales (in season) as well as the surrounding communities.

Fox Island Trail, Champney’s West
A 5.5 km hike. It is rated as being easy-moderate in difficulty. The trail displays the beautiful coastal scenery, views of the surrounding communities and local wildlife, then to finish with walking through the fishing village of Champney’s West. Take the time to walk down and view the fishing stages and maybe get your opportunity to chat to a local resident.

DISCOVERY UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK

Discovery Global Geopark invites you to discover a little more about your geological past. Located on the upper half of the Bonavista Peninsula on the eastern coast of the island of Newfoundland, Discovery has a variety of sites where you can tour and learn about the Earth. Port Rexton Brewing Company is a very popular destination to enjoy a cold one from the micro brewery.  Take a brewery tour or just grab a beverage and enjoy in their tasting room or patio.  Enjoy a bite to eat from “oh my cheeses” food truck on site. 

golf courses

We are close to the three nearby golf courses in the region. Enjoy the Famous 18-hole Twin Rivers course at the Terra Nova Golf Resort, Port Blandford – only minutes away from Terra Nova Hospitality Home. Terra Nova Golf Resort also offers the 9-hole Eagle Creek course.

The  is the 9-hole The View Golf Course, located in Princeton is just a short drive away. The third golf course in the area is the 9-hole Brookside Golf Course in Hatchet Cove. If you would like directions to any of these beautiful courses, be sure to ask your hosts.

whale / boat tours

There are a variety of boat tours to choose from in the area. From whale and bird watching, getting a closer look at magnificent icebergs, or exploring resettled communities – there is a tour for you!.

white hills resort

White Hills Resort is a community owned and operated ski resort located in just outside of Clarenville. The Resort offers winter fun for everyone with downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling access to the backcountry, ski lessons & rentals. Surrounding White Hills are over 40 kms of arguably the best nordic trails in the province. These trails a beautifully groomed for beginners through to experts. rising tide theatre

The famous Rising Tide Theatre Company offers a wide range of theatre from comedy to drama and everything in between. Formed in 1978, Rising Tide began by writing and producing political plays that addressed controversial issues for Newfoundland and Labrador.  Today, Riding Tide Theatre operates seasonally from the beautiful community of Trinity.
